Carriers continue to operate on a very limited basis in Florida and the coastal areas of Georgia and South Carolina. Carrier operations also remain limited in the inland areas of Georgia and South Carolina, including the Atlanta metropolitan area.
Carrier limitations in the areas affected by Hurricane Irma include:
- Widespread delays for pickups and deliveries
- Embargoes on expedited shipments
- Embargoes on shipments with guaranteed service times
- Embargoes on temperature-controlled services
- Embargoes on service to residential areas
